Situation

Drawings as the basis for build-up

Mansveld Expotech is part of the Mansveld Group and is responsible for the technical build-up of trade fairs at venues including the RAI, Jaarbeurs and MECC. In preparation, the company uses drawing software to produce execution drawings. These form the basis for laying cables and determining the materials needed on site.

During trade fair build-up, delays and extra coordination moments regularly occurred because drawings and material information were not always clear or complete. Mansveld Expotech wanted to explore how the use of the drawing software could be optimised to improve the efficiency, clarity and predictability of the build-up process.

Approach

From GAP analysis to roadmap

  1. GAP analysisStudent Consultant mapped the current and desired use of the drawing software. Interviews, observations and process descriptions were used to identify bottlenecks and opportunities for improvement.
  2. Advisory reportBased on these insights, an advisory report was drawn up with a roadmap, priorities and a risk analysis. This plan translated the analysis into concrete next steps for a more efficient and streamlined trade fair build-up.
