Situation
Prioritising within the I-domain
The City of Amsterdam is one of the largest municipalities in the Netherlands and serves more than 900,000 residents. Within the Digitalisation directorate, specifically in the I-domain, a need arose for a uniform way to prioritise project proposals: so-called Epics, large-scale initiatives within agile working environments.
There were no clear guidelines for weighing value, risks and required resources. This led to ambiguity in decision-making and prioritisation. The I-domain therefore sought one standardised business case methodology that enables well-considered decisions.
How do we enable the I-domain of the City of Amsterdam to make well-considered decisions and prioritise Epics better, using a standardised business case methodology?
